Description
Vejer de la Frontera is a typical Andalusian white town
located in the middle of a wonderful landscape. The school
built in the 19th century is constructed on the old Moorish
walls of the city. Great part of these walls, constructed
in the 11th century, have been conserved, including the
clock tower that faces the garden. The school has two
Andalusian patios, a garden with orange-trees, jasmines
and bougainvillaea, a terrace and a roof with views in
all directions, from Medina Sidona in the North to Morocco
in the south. All these areas are available for the students
use.
Lodging
The school offers several types of lodging according to
the preferences and budgets of the students. It is possible
to lodge in family houses, shared apartments, in a residence,
a studio or a private apartment.
Academic
The average class has six students and a maximum of ten.
This way, all the students receive individual attention
to solve any problem that can arise to improve his knowledge
of the Spanish language and culture. Teachers help the
students to feel the Spanish culture, to speak Spanish
correctly and to be able to use the language in daily
situations. Grammar, vocabulary and culture are learned
in their natural combination of listening and speaking.
Students are supposed to participate actively in the classroom
experience of learning.
Activities
All the courses and programs organized by the Janda are
complemented with extracurricular activities: films, talking,
visits, kite-surfing, cuisine lessons and sports. Each
weekend is an excursion of one or two days to Seville,
Cordova, Morocco, or Ronda.
