Description
Eureka is located in the historical center of the city,
between Puerta del Sol and the Royal Palace, lodged by
a building of more than 150 years totally redesigned and
prepared for the teaching of languages. Located nearby
are the city's major museums (El Museo del Prado, El Centro
de Arte Reina Sofía, El Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza),
buildings (El Palacio Real, El Parlamento, El Teatro Real,
La Plaza Mayor), convents (Las Descalzas Reales and La
Encarnación), and monuments (La Cibeles, La Puerta
de Alcalá).
Lodging
The academy offers lodging in families houses, shared
apartments and studies and meals with a professor in
a restaurant near the school.
Academics
The teachers develop their classes in groups of a maximum
of 6 students. There are intensive, General Courses,
preparation to the DELE exam, and one to one classes.
The intensive courses (20 or 30 hours per week) are
designed for students who wish to learn or improve their
Spanish level in a short period of time. The classes
cover all the aspects of the Spanish language: pronunciation,
grammar studies, text analysis, writing, translation,
etc. The students have a stable teacher of grammar throughout
the course. During the conversation classes the professors
change every 3 days so that students get use and practice
with different voices.
Activities
The academy offers the student the possibility of participating
in a program of activities and trips in extra-scholastic
schedule. The price of the activities includes transportation,
a guide of the Academy and tickets to the museums.
The program changes monthly and offers visits to the
Old Madrid, the Royal Palace, the Monastery of the Descalzas
Reales, the Monastery of the Incarnation, the Museum
and the Factory of Carpets, the Museum Lazaro Galdiano,
the Decorative Arts Museum, etc. It also includes the
Escorial, the Valley of the Fallen, Aranjuez, Chinchón,
Segovia, among other places.
